ZEPPELIN

Here are the speakers your iPod® has been waiting for.
Zeppelin is an integrated iPod speaker system from Bowers & Wilkins, makers of the speakers that much of the music on your iPod will have been monitored on. B&W creates technologies and systems that world-leading studios depend on and that find their way into even its most affordable speakers. Zeppelin will fill a room with crisp, deep, lifelike stereo sound, and deliver musical detail that you won’t believe your iPod could deliver. That’s because the two have so much in common: blissfully simple design and world-leading technologies that let you get the most out of your music. The sleeker speakerTake a look at your iPod. High quality digital copies of thousands of tracks, each one sitting there, waiting to be heard in all its glory. Zeppelin sets them all free. A full stereo system in one unit, it releases all of the detail and atmosphere that standard iPod speakers miss. Compact enough to tuck under your arm, it can set you free, too.
Zeppelin allows you to have real hi-fi stereo sound wherever you need it: upstairs, downstairs or perhaps in a den, bedroom, kitchen, office or second home. Or you might just need a simpler, smaller and more stylish replacement for your traditional audio system.
Zeppelin rocks, wherever you are, yet is simple to set up and use. Plug it in, place your iPod on the docking port and hit the play button. You can vary the volume on Zeppelin itself, on its remote control or on the iPod. And connections at the back let you play other sources through Zeppelin or channel images from your iPod to a TV. The reference speaker Zeppelin is a direct descendant of B&W's legendary reference speaker range. The 800 Series800 Series is sought-after by world-leading recording studios from Skywalker Ranch to Abbey Road. At Abbey Road StudiosAbbey Road Studios.

FIVE STARS
NEW 600 SERIES LOUDSPEAKERS
The 600 Series is a bit of a star. Every edition since it first appeared has swept up rave reviews and product of the year awards, and trumped expectations of performance and design from speakers in the affordable price range. This, the fourth generation of the 600 Series, features improved drive units, minimalist crossovers and a whole new design.
686
The 686 is the baby of the 600 Series bunch, but doesn’t lack for the technologies and features to deliver outrageously good sound in smaller room settings. Mount a pair on a wall or stand, or simply sit them on a shelf or table for a compact stereo system or as surround speakers in a home theatre set-up.
The 130mm diameter Kevlar® cone bass/midrange is based on a tried-and-trusted B&W design, but its new fixed centre bullet helps to smooth the response in upper frequencies. Also, by setting the bass/midrange closer to the tweeter than in equivalent earlier speakers, we have improved the integration and vertical dispersion of sound from the two units. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.
The improvements to the drive units in the new 600 Series make it possible, for the first time, to introduce a minimalist crossover to the range. The use of components that are fewer in number but higher in quality – hand-picked in exhaustive listening tests – reduces the degradation of the signal significantly. So, whether you’re enjoying hi-fi or home cinema, what you hear is that much closer to what was recorded.
SRP £279.00
685
For hi-fi or home cinema in small to medium-sized rooms, you need a loudspeaker that doesn’t take up floor area, but whose sound can still command the space. You’ll find the 685, which can sit on a shelf, table, stand or wall-mount, an inspired choice.

684
The extended bass response and output capacity of the 2½-way 684 floorstander make it a great choice for hi-fi or home cinema in medium-sized to large rooms.
It features a new combination of a pair of Kevlar® cones for delivering its bass and midrange. The lower cone is dedicated to bass, which relieves the upper bass/midrange unit of the duty to handle heavy bass and leads to clearer, crisper midrange than you might find in smaller speakers. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.

ACTIVE SUBWOOFERS
ASW610XP

The ASW610XP, the most powerful of the 600 Series subwoofers, delivers the finishing touch – or finishing thump – to a hi-fi or home theatre system for larger rooms. Serious bass power is developed in a compact cabinet thanks to the unit’s twin 200W amplifiers and dual voice coil, long-throw 250mm driver. Equipped with audiophile-standard Class D circuitry, the unit remains cool and efficient under pressure.
SRP £699.00
ASW610

ASW610The ASW610 subwoofer presents a very happy medium between the more diminutive ASW608 and the all-out power of the ASW610XP. Its long-throw 250mm driver allows the ASW610 to move the large volumes of air needed for high-quality low-frequency output, and its audiophile-standard 200W Class D amplifier keeps the compact unit running cool, even when the music or movie action is whipping up a storm.
In all of the 600 Series subwoofers, the bass driver diaphragms are constructed from a rugged, finely-tuned mix of paper pulp, Kevlar® fibres and resin, which provides the stiffness needed to withstand the tremendous physical forces exerted by the voice coil and pressures inside the cabinet.

ASW608

For big sound in smaller spaces, you can’t beat the ASW608, the most compact of the 600 Series subwoofers.

CM1 Standmount/FS-Stand
The CM1 mini-monitor was designed and developed in tandem with the 805s from the 800 Series and shares that model’s driver and crossover technology, along with its remarkable musical ability.
It continues a long and distinguished line of compact and inherently accurate monitors that have an uncanny ability to re-create an utterly convincing portrayal of music’s dynamics, colour, energy and beauty.
The driver line-up of a 130mm Kevlar® cone bass/midrange and 25mm Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter endow the CM1 with a striking ability to resolve fine.

CM7Floorstander
The CM7 is a superbly accurate and revealing wide-bandwidth speaker system.
Like its CM siblings, the CM7’s great strength is stereo music reproduction. A high technology, genuine three-way driver line-up, compromising a Kevlar®/paper cone bass unit, Kevlar® cone FST midrange unit and Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter. These endow the CM7 with an ability to portray musical scale from a whispered lyric to an orchestral crescendo without distortion or compression.
The ear-tuned, low-order crossover circuits, made possible by the remarkably wide bandwidth of the CM7 drivers, ensure that music is portrayed as a seamless, cohesive whole. Flowport™ technology to minimise turbulence, and a bass driver featuring magnet system technology that reduces distortion, mean that CM7 bass is extended, fast and tuneful. An optional port sleeve that modifies the low frequency response allows positioning of the speaker right up close to walls without musical compromise. The CM7’s Nautilus™ tweeter extends the top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.
The CM7’s tall, slim enclosure is a classically manufactured and exquisitely veneered expression of traditional cabinet making and provides a visually understated and mechanically rigid environment for the drivers. Real wood finishes in Wenge, Rosenut and Maple are available.
Also, because the black or dark grey fabric grille is magnetically attached, removing it reveals no unsightly grille mounting features.

CMCCentre Speaker
The CM Centre’s symmetrically arranged driver line-up of twin Kevlar® cone bass/midrange units and a Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium tweeter are integrated by a minimalist, ear-tuned, first order network made possible by the remarkably wide bandwidth of the drivers. The CM Centre makes music as a seamless, cohesive whole, and displays a striking ability to resolve fine detail.
Like its CM1 mini-monitor sibling, the CM Centre speaker borrows design and development features from the 800 Series 805S and similarly shares that model’s remarkable musical ability, a key aspect of the CM Centre. While it undoubtedly plays the AV centre channel role to perfection, the CM Centre also extends the CM1’s emphasis on accurate, dynamic and revealing music reproduction. Working together, the CM Centre and CM1 have few equals when it comes to compact multi-channel systems that make music as adeptly as they reproduce home theatre audio.

M1 Satellite Speaker
The M-1 has been engineered with the same design attributes and ethos as B&W’s larger ranges. Perhaps the most striking thing about the M-1 is the weight and strength of its curved aluminium cabinet. This is combined with a strong, glass-loaded ABS front baffle. Together they provide an excellent cabinet: the curved aluminium is stiff and the ABS offers excellent and appropriate damping characteristics.
The M-1’s drive units were developed by B&W specifically for the design. The 1” metal dome tweeter benefits from refinements developed for the new B&W 800 Series and includes Nautilus™ tube loading and neodymium magnets (-6db at 50kHz). The 4” glass fibre bass/midrange cone’s ability to absorb standing waves has been further enhanced by the inclusion of five strategically placed resin filled slots that further minimise bell modes.
The result of this detailed cabinet and drive unit engineering has allowed B&W’s engineers to borrow another feature from the new 800 Series and utilise the simplest of electronic equalisation in the M-1’s crossover. Each of the M-1’s drive units is fed by only a single, carefully selected component. B&W believes that this approach to crossover design, although painstaking as it relies on optimising all of the physical components in a design, is crucial in achieving its aim of neither adding to nor subtracting from the original signal. Silver, Gloss Black or White each with chromium plated stem and table base.

XT SERIES

XT4 Floorstander
The XT4 is the perfect solution when contemporary design, minimal visual bulk and outstanding performance are all top of list. XT4 boasts an immensely rigid one-piece extruded aluminium enclosure which carries a top mounted Nautilus™ tube loaded 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, a 130mm Kevlar® cone midrange driver, and twin Flowport™ loaded, composite paper/Kevlar® cone bass drivers. The twin bass drivers provide low frequency bandwidth and power handling in abundance giving the XT4 a real sense of scale and dynamics.
In either AV front speaker or conventional stereo system roles the XT4’s combination of performance and aesthetic style is unrivalled. Genuine high-end hi-fi with a contemporary aesthectic.
XT2 Standmount Loudspeakers
The XT2 small, agile, high performance speakers are something of an English tradition - one in which B&W has played a full part. But there’s never been one quite like this. The XT2 features an immensely rigid one-piece extruded aluminium enclosure carrying a top mounted Nautilus™ tube loaded 25mm aluminium dome tweeter and a Flowport™ loaded 130mm Kevlar® cone bass/midrange driver. The small size of the XT2 combined with its very high performance drivers and, thanks to the rigidity of curved aluminium, its complete lack of cabinet colouration produces an accurate and transparent speaker capable of revealing the subtlest detail from either music or AV material.
The XT2 is perfectly at home in a conventional stereo system or as either main or surround speakers in an multi-channel AV system. The addition of a PV1 active subwoofer in either case can turn an XT2 based system into something else again - a wide bandwidth, high power, wolf in sheep's clothing.
XTC Centre Speaker
The extruded aluminium construction of the XT Series enclosure lends itself as much to a horizontal format centre channel speaker as it does the vertical format XT4 and XT2. The acoustic and mechanical benefits of the construction reap similar rewards regardless of orientation. So, matching the XT4 and XT2 is the XTC - a two-way system incorporating twin Flowport™ loaded 130mm Kevlar® cone bass/midrange drivers and a centrally mounted Nautilus™ tube loaded 25mm aluminium dome tweeter. As befits its role in systems integrated with the XT4 and XT2, the XTC offers the same tonal balance and detailed, revealing character.
The XTC is more than just a centre channel speaker however. Pairs can also be used in vertical orientation as front speakers - wall mounted with the included mounting bracket one each side of the screen.
