M-1 Satellite Speaker
The M-1 has been engineered with the same design attributes and ethos as B&W’s larger ranges. Perhaps the most striking thing about the M-1 is the weight and strength of its curved aluminium cabinet. This is combined with a strong, glass-loaded ABS front baffle. Together they provide an excellent cabinet: the curved aluminium is stiff and the ABS offers excellent and appropriate damping characteristics.
The M-1’s drive units were developed by B&W specifically for the design. The 1” metal dome tweeter benefits from refinements developed for the new B&W 800 Series and includes Nautilus™ tube loading and neodymium magnets (-6db at 50kHz). The 4” glass fibre bass/midrange cone’s ability to absorb standing waves has been further enhanced by the inclusion of five strategically placed resin filled slots that further minimise bell modes.
The result of this detailed cabinet and drive unit engineering has allowed B&W’s engineers to borrow another feature from the new 800 Series and utilise the simplest of electronic equalisation in the M-1’s crossover. Each of the M-1’s drive units is fed by only a single, carefully selected component. B&W believes that this approach to crossover design, although painstaking as it relies on optimising all of the physical components in a design, is crucial in achieving its aim of neither adding to nor subtracting from the original signal. Silver, Gloss Black or White each with chromium plated stem and table base.

600 SERIES LOUDSPEAKERS
The 600 Series is a bit of a star. Every edition since it first appeared has swept up rave reviews and product of the year awards, and trumped expectations of performance and design from speakers in the affordable price range. This, the fourth generation of the 600 Series, features improved drive units, minimalist crossovers and a whole new design. 686
The 686 is the baby of the 600 Series bunch, but doesn’t lack for the technologies and features to deliver outrageously good sound in smaller room settings. Mount a pair on a wall or stand, or simply sit them on a shelf or table for a compact stereo system or as surround speakers in a home theatre set-up.
The 130mm diameter Kevlar® cone bass/midrange is based on a tried-and-trusted B&W design, but its new fixed centre bullet helps to smooth the response in upper frequencies. Also, by setting the bass/midrange closer to the tweeter than in equivalent earlier speakers, we have improved the integration and vertical dispersion of sound from the two units. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.
The improvements to the drive units in the new 600 Series make it possible, for the first time, to introduce a minimalist crossover to the range. The use of components that are fewer in number but higher in quality – hand-picked in exhaustive listening tests – reduces the degradation of the signal significantly. So, whether you’re enjoying hi-fi or home cinema, what you hear is that much closer to what was recorded.

685
For hi-fi or home cinema in small to medium-sized rooms, you need a loudspeaker that doesn’t take up floor area, but whose sound can still command the space. You’ll find the 685, which can sit on a shelf, table, stand or wall-mount, an inspired choice.

684
The extended bass response and output capacity of the 2½-way 684 floorstander make it a great choice for hi-fi or home cinema in medium-sized to large rooms.
It features a new combination of a pair of Kevlar® cones for delivering its bass and midrange. The lower cone is dedicated to bass, which relieves the upper bass/midrange unit of the duty to handle heavy bass and leads to clearer, crisper midrange than you might find in smaller speakers. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.

683
The imposing 683 is the genuine three-way speaker of the 600 Series, with a line-up of technologies and a level of performance that defies its entry-level place in the market. For large rooms, two 683s make a formidable partnership, either for stereo hi-fi or fronting a home theatre installation.
Deep, dynamic, bottom-end power is delivered by a pair of aluminium/paper/Kevlar® composite cone bass drive units. The 150mm Kevlar® midrange handles middle frequencies with its characteristic clarity and tunefulness, but, for the first time in a 600 Series speaker, includes FST cone surround technology for extra detail and resolution. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.

ACTIVE SUBWOOFERS
ASW610XP
The ASW610XP, the most powerful of the 600 Series subwoofers, delivers the finishing touch – or finishing thump – to a hi-fi or home theatre system for larger rooms. Serious bass power is developed in a compact cabinet thanks to the unit’s twin 200W amplifiers and dual voice coil, long-throw 250mm driver. Equipped with audiophile-standard Class D circuitry, the unit remains cool and efficient under pressure.

ASW610

The ASW610 subwoofer presents a very happy medium between the more diminutive ASW608 and the all-out power of the ASW610XP. Its long-throw 250mm driver allows the ASW610 to move the large volumes of air needed for high-quality low-frequency output, and its audiophile-standard 200W Class D amplifier keeps the compact unit running cool, even when the music or movie action is whipping up a storm.
In all of the 600 Series subwoofers, the bass driver diaphragms are constructed from a rugged, finely-tuned mix of paper pulp, Kevlar® fibres and resin, which provides the stiffness needed to withstand the tremendous physical forces exerted by the voice coil and pressures inside the cabinet.

HTM61
The HTM61 is the larger of the two centre speakers in the 600 Series, and is tailor-made to partner either of the two floorstanding main speakers (the 683 or 684) in a commanding home theatre system.
It’s an impressive piece of equipment in itself: a full, three-way speaker comprising a 165mm diameter Kevlar® bass/midrange, a 150mm diameter Kevlar® midrange with FST cone surround technology, and a Nautilus™ tube-loaded tweeter. It doesn’t have to be laid horizontal beneath the screen, as is the custom with centre speakers. If space is lacking, stand it upright. Either way, the HTM61 is cut out for centre stage.

CM Series
CM1 Standmount/FS Stand
The CM1 may be ideal for smaller spaces, but don’t let the size of this bookshelf speaker fool you. Thanks to the quality of its construction, it’s capable of producing a sound that’s a match for its bigger brothers.
The partnership of a 130mm Kevlar® cone bass/midrange driver with a Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter helps the speaker handle musical detail with ease across the full frequency spectrum. Despite the size of the speaker, the CM1’s bass is always deep and under control thanks to the CM Series’ magnet and voice coil system technology, which keeps distortion to a minimum.
The quality of CM Series drive units has made it possible to use minimalist crossovers throughout the whole range. The resulting gentle transition between drivers avoids the unnaturally rapid changes in dispersion that bedevil more complex designs, while the high quality components, carefully chosen after exhaustive listening tests, ensure that as little as possible gets between you and the sound of the original recording.
All CM Series speakers come with aluminium driver trims. Grilles attach magnetically, so there are no unsightly grille-mounting features to spoil the clean lines of the speaker’s façade. For the finish, you can choose either one of two real-wood veneers in Rosenut or Wengé, or a highly polished gloss black.

CM5 Standmount/FS-Stand
On a bookshelf or a speaker stand, the CM5 will give you a wonderfully big, expansive sound even if you don’t have the floorspace to match.
It’s a slightly larger speaker than its sibling the CM1, with even higher sensitivity and power handling, and better bass extension. It partners a sizable 165mm Kevlar® cone bass/midrange driver with a Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter, capable of keeping high frequencies crisp and sharp all the way up to 50kHz and beyond.

CM7 Floorstander
The CM7 is a superbly accurate and revealing wide-bandwidth speaker system.
Like its CM siblings, the CM7’s great strength is stereo music reproduction. A high technology, genuine three-way driver line-up, compromising a Kevlar®/paper cone bass unit, Kevlar® cone FST midrange unit and Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter. These endow the CM7 with an ability to portray musical scale from a whispered lyric to an orchestral crescendo without distortion or compression.
The ear-tuned, low-order crossover circuits, made possible by the remarkably wide bandwidth of the CM7 drivers, ensure that music is portrayed as a seamless, cohesive whole. Flowport™ technology to minimise turbulence, and a bass driver featuring magnet system technology that reduces distortion, mean that CM7 bass is extended, fast and tuneful. An optional port sleeve that modifies the low frequency response allows positioning of the speaker right up close to walls without musical compromise. The CM7’s Nautilus™ tweeter extends the top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.
The CM7’s tall, slim enclosure is a classically manufactured and exquisitely veneered expression of traditional cabinet making and provides a visually understated and mechanically rigid environment for the drivers.

If it’s hard to put the sound of the CM9 into words, that’s just as well. This top-of-the-range floorstanding speaker will fill even the largest domestic spaces with music so richly detailed, and so startlingly lifelike, that it will leave you speechless.
The three-way CM9 delivers truly commanding bass with the aid of twin 165mm paper/Kevlar® cone drive units. An FST® driver, with its characteristic compression surround supporting the outer edge of the distinctive Kevlar® cone, is specially developed for outstanding midrange performance. The CM9’s Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter keeps high frequencies crisp and sharp all the way up to 50kHz and beyond.

XT SERIES

XT8 Floorstander
The XT8 (see image above) is a true three-way speaker boasting a Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter, a Kevlar® FST midrange driver, and twin composite paper/Kevlar® cone bass drivers. The bass units provide low-frequency bandwidth and power handling in abundance, giving the XT8 a real sense of scale and dynamics. As with all XT speakers, the body is formed from a single, seamless piece of extruded aluminium, creating an immensely rigid, stable enclosure and reducing cabinet coloration almost to zero.
As either the front speaker in an AV system or in a conventional stereo set-up, the top-of-the-range, floor-standing XT8 delivers unrivalled performance with a sleek aesthetic that’s a match for any interior style, contemporary or traditional.
Just like the reference 800 Series speakers, the XT8’s tweeter is positioned on top of the cabinet, providing wider sound dispersion, better image stability and improved phase integration with the midrange driver. The purity of the tweeter’s signal is preserved with a first-order crossover using just a single filtering component, hand-picked after exhaustive listening tests.
The XT8 is available in two finishes: Natural Brushed Aluminium, and a stylish Gloss Black.

XT2 Standmount Loudspeakers
The XT2 (see image above) either on a bookshelf, floor stand or fixed to a wall, these versatile speakers perform brilliantly both in a stereo set up and providing the front or rear channels in an AV system. That’s down to ingenious cabinet design and cutting-edge acoustic technology, refined and developed for our most advanced reference speakers.
The XT2 features a Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter, positioned on top of the speaker cabinet for better image stability. A single Kevlar® cone driver handles the midrange and the bass. As with all XT speakers, the body is formed from a single, seamless piece of extruded aluminium, creating an immensely rigid, stable enclosure and reducing cabinet coloration almost to zero.
You have the option of placing the XT2 on our specially designed FS-XT floor stand, or fixing it to the wall with an adjustable wave-bracket that comes included with the speaker.
The XT2 is available in two finishes: Natural Brushed Aluminum, and a stylish Gloss Black.

XTC Centre Speaker
The acoustic and mechanical benefits of the construction reap similar rewards regardless of orientation. So, matching the XT8 and XT2 is the XTC - a two-way system incorporating twin Flowport™ loaded 130mm Kevlar® cone bass/midrange drivers and a centrally mounted Nautilus™ tube loaded 25mm aluminium dome tweeter. As befits its role in systems integrated with the XT4 and XT2, the XTC offers the same tonal balance and detailed, revealing character.
The XTC is more than just a centre channel speaker however. Pairs can also be used in vertical orientation as front speakers - wall mounted with the included mounting bracket one each side of the screen. (see image above)

FS-XTII Stands
Give your XT2 speakers the commanding position they deserve, on top of a pair of FS-XT/II floor stands. (see image above) Available in visually coordinated silver or black finishes, the stand supports the speaker at the optimum listening height and gives it the firm foundation necessary to preserve the nuances in the recording.
The base can be fitted with spikes or rubber feet to suit your floor surface, and the pillar can be filled with dry sand for extra stability. To make sure that no visually distracting cables spoil the elegant lines of your XT speakers, the stand has been designed so that cables can be routed directly into the underside of the speaker and through to the terminals without looping out.
